Satinwood School Motto/Vision and Mission: Student
Motto: Being the very best I can be is within me. Staff Vision: We honor every child. We are dedicated to their success.
Mission: To achieve our vision, we will develop confident children with the desires, the skills, and the abilities necessary for lifelong learning. We will prepare resourceful students who are responsible for setting and attaining goals. We will build a partnership with families to ensure success for each child. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Us: We are a small rural kindergarten through grade 6 school. At our school each student is well known by all staff members which creates a family - like atmosphere which is important to us. We consider each child, as they enter our school, on a 7 year journey which really allows us to focus on building on the child's strengths. With each student we strive for academic growth and take much pride in building strong readers. We feel reading is at the cornerstone of almost everything we do academically at Satinwood. If you are a strong reader understanding material in all subjects becomes easier. Along with the academics we feel building outstanding citizens is another important attribute we can offer each student. We strive to build strong character traits such as honesty, caring, respect for oneself and others,
compassion and responsibility. As we are on this 7 year journey with each child we can work with each family to ensure academic and personal growth.Â
Our school is situated 20 minutes east (hwy #12) and south (hwy #815) of Lacombe and 15 to 20 minutes east of Red Deer (Hwy #11) in the Joffre area. We have a population of approximately 65 students and 10 staff members. We strongly encourage our parents to be involved in their community school by volunteering their time on School Council, Parents Association, activity nights, open houses and volunteering in the classroom.
Before and After School Care We are in the process of setting up before and after school care. Please contact Shannon (403-885-2550) for more information. Shannon is a certified teacher and is passionate about providing excellent care for your child.
